PATSON, Conn. — U. S. District Judge Michael Young is standing by his orders finding the company failed to adequately warn consumers about the potentially harmful effects of Viagra.

The suit, filed Monday, is against the company and the manufacturer, Pfizer, which has been accused of a number of health risks. U. District Judge Michael Young is the only one from New York who has made such a ruling.

“Pfizer has committed and has committed a number of safety and health risk disclosures that are inconsistent with the U. Supreme Court’s decision in the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act,” said Michael Young, who was appointed by the court to oversee the litigation.

The suit was filed on January 23, 2020, and it was submitted by the U. Food and Drug Administration in December. The FDA issued an order in December asking for additional information about the possible impact on Viagra users of the Food and Drug Administration’s warning, which has been cited in more than 40 other cases involving the drug.

The complaint said the company had told consumers that they should not take Viagra and that it was not being advised to take Viagra for the sole purpose of enhancing male sexual performance, or to increase the chances of developing prostate cancer.

“This is not an appropriate response to the allegations made by the plaintiff,” said George K. Johnson, director of FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in biotechnology. “There’s no evidence that these safety issues are related to Viagra, and there are no medical conditions that would put consumers at greater risk.”

Johnson said that Viagra has been marketed to consumers for more than a decade and is still in use.

“Pfizer has not acted appropriately and will continue to do so,” he said.

The complaint also said the company failed to provide the FDA with enough information to determine whether a warning was in place.

The complaint said the company failed to adequately warn consumers of the potential health risks associated with Viagra. The FDA has said the company has “a continuing obligation to inform consumers of the safety and efficacy of any medication” that the drug may be prescribed for an individual’s condition.

“This action is not an adequate response to the allegations made in the complaint,” said Robert K. Kieffer, chief executive of Pfizer.

Pfizer said it will make a decision in the case in the second half of this year and will continue to make the company aware of the potential safety and efficacy issues.

The company will continue to make available to patients and health care providers any drug that is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA is requiring that information about the possible risk of serious adverse reactions with Viagra is included in all drug product labels.

The suit said the company failed to properly warn consumers about the possibility of harmful side effects and failed to adequately warn patients of the potential risk of adverse reactions with Viagra.

This medication works by reducing the levels of the enzyme PDE5, which is responsible for breaking down the contents of the blood vessels, such as plaque and blood vessels walls. By inhibiting PDE5, Viagra helps to restore blood vessels, allowing the penis to achieve an erection when sexually stimulated.
